GPSR Responsible Person Service for Non-EU Sellers
EU Responsible Person Under GPSR 2023/988 — Amazon, Etsy & Shopify Compliance
The General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR, EU 2023/988) requires all non-EU manufacturers and sellers to appoint a GPSR Responsible Person — an EU-based entity legally responsible for product safety compliance. The GPSR Responsible Person's contact details must appear on the product, packaging, and all EU marketplace listings including Amazon, Etsy, eBay, and Shopify.
AuraDPP acts as GPSR Responsible Person for non-EU sellers from €99/month. Our registered address in Slovakia (EU member state) satisfies the GPSR Article 4 requirement. We handle all communications with EU market surveillance authorities, maintain the required technical documentation, and issue the Declaration of Conformity support documentation.
What is a GPSR Responsible Person?
Under GPSR Article 4, a Responsible Person is an EU-based natural or legal person who: (1) ensures the product complies with EU safety requirements; (2) maintains the technical documentation and Declaration of Conformity; (3) cooperates with EU market surveillance authorities; (4) takes corrective action when products are found to be unsafe. The Responsible Person's name, registered address, and contact details must appear on the product or its packaging.
Amazon Listing Deactivated? Reactivate Within 24 Hours.
If Amazon has deactivated your EU listings because of a missing GPSR Responsible Person, AuraDPP can target resolution within 24 hours. After signup, you receive an official appointment letter with AuraDPP's EU address (Slovakia) that you enter directly into Amazon Seller Central under Product Compliance. Amazon typically reactivates listings within 1–3 business days after a valid Responsible Person is added. The same applies to Etsy listings blocked due to missing Economic Operator information.
GPSR Responsible Person vs EU Authorized Representative
A GPSR Responsible Person (GPSR Art. 4) and an EU Authorised Representative are distinct legal concepts. Under GPSR, the correct term is Responsible Person. Under other EU product regulations (CE marking directives, MDR, IVDR, Radio Equipment Directive), the applicable role is EU Authorised Representative. Amazon and Etsy use both terms in their platform interfaces to refer to the GPSR Responsible Person requirement. AuraDPP provides the GPSR Responsible Person service; depending on the applicable EU legislation, the same EU-based economic operator may in some cases perform multiple compliance roles, provided the requirements for each role are separately fulfilled.
