EU Compliance for United States Sellers
US sellers are among the most active non-EU sellers on EU marketplaces. Products covered by GPSR or EU harmonisation legislation require an EU-based responsible economic operator — which may be an EU AR, an importer, or another permitted operator depending on the supply chain.
Country Guides Overview
US sellers primarily use Amazon, Shopify, and Etsy to sell into the EU. Electronics, consumer goods, health products, and fashion are the most common categories. Many US sellers are unaware of EU compliance requirements until their listings are removed.
Requirements depend on the product, applicable legislation, and supply chain. This information is provided for general guidance and does not constitute legal advice.
